Position summary

LSO Media Group is seeking a Vice President, Software Products to establish and lead the team building LSO Workplace and LSO Playout. Reporting to Samantha Phillips, President of Sales, you will turn the two product concepts into focused development programs with clear customer needs, accountable budgets and evidence-based launch decisions. Both products are coming soon; this is an opportunity to shape how they are built and introduced to customers.

You will directly manage the two Product & Engineering Directors and five shared specialists in design, quality assurance, cloud reliability, customer success and technical documentation. The directors lead daily product development and technical execution. You will resolve priorities across the products, secure resources, and coordinate commercial planning with Samantha and the wider business. You must understand modern software delivery and AI-assisted engineering well enough to assess technical evidence, challenge assumptions and distinguish a convincing demonstration from a service customers can rely on.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a product strategy and staged delivery plan for each product, starting with customer discovery, a defined initial scope and measurable pilot outcomes.
  • Manage, hire and develop the two directors and shared specialists; define decision rights, staffing priorities and the allocation of shared capacity.
  • Own the combined operating plan and approved product budget, including staffing, cloud services, AI tooling, hardware testing and specialist support.
  • Review architecture, security, quality and operating-readiness evidence with the directors; require named owners and resolution plans for launch blockers.
  • Set standards for AI-assisted development, including approved tools, access to company data, human code review, automated checks and accountability for generated work.
  • Coordinate customer discovery, pilot recruitment, packaging, pricing proposals and sales enablement with Samantha Phillips, Finance and the product directors.
  • Ensure sales commitments and launch dates reflect demonstrated capability, tested capacity and the resources required to support customers.
  • Create release-readiness reviews with engineering, quality and operations input; resolve or escalate material reliability and security concerns before release.
  • Plan onboarding, documentation, support ownership, incident response and service monitoring before customers depend on either product.
  • Report product progress, spending, customer evidence and decisions needed to the President of Sales, explaining trade-offs and corrective action clearly.

Required qualifications

  • Substantial experience delivering commercial software products, typically eight or more years, including leadership of product or engineering managers.
  • A record of taking an early product through customer validation, production delivery and ongoing operation, with clear accountability for outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of cloud applications, software architecture, release processes, security and operational reliability, supported by direct delivery experience.
  • Practical experience introducing AI coding assistants or development agents into a team, with examples of how quality, confidentiality and costs were controlled.
  • Experience managing budgets, hiring plans and competing priorities while working with sales and business stakeholders.
  • Clear written communication and sound judgment; a relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with software for small and midsize businesses, broadcast operations or streaming media.
  • Experience overseeing products that combine a cloud service with a locally installed application or hardware integration.
  • Experience building a new development organization and coordinating specialist security or reliability reviews.

Measures of success

  • Both products have a validated initial customer problem, a realistic roadmap and an accountable director.
  • Hiring, spending and shared-team capacity are aligned with agreed development priorities.
  • Pilot and release decisions are supported by customer evidence and documented technical readiness.
  • Commercial commitments, product capability and support capacity remain consistent.

First 90 days

Review the product concepts and existing work, meet prospective users and agree on the initial customer segments with Samantha Phillips. Establish the directors' decision rights, hiring sequence and combined budget. Approve initial product scopes, prototype reviews and pilot criteria, and introduce a concise reporting cadence covering delivery, quality, cost and customer evidence. A public launch date should follow the readiness assessment.

Compensation

Proposed annual base salary of $190,000–$250,000 USD. The final offer will reflect relevant experience, qualifications and the agreed scope of the position, subject to approval. This range covers base pay only; any incentive compensation or benefits would be specified separately in an employment offer.

What to include in your application

Describe a software product you helped take from concept to operation, the team and budget you led, and how you introduced AI development tools. Explain a difficult trade-off and the evidence behind your decision; use nonconfidential examples.
