Position summary
The Risk & Compliance Manager will help LSO Media Group identify operating risks and follow through on agreed controls. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will work with business owners to document risks, assess existing safeguards and maintain clear action plans. The scope covers corporate processes, vendors and business initiatives, with specialist legal, financial and technical advice provided by the relevant owners.
You will build a practical review program that produces useful evidence and clear decisions. The role does not independently determine the legal permissions needed for new business activities; it coordinates the questions, reviews and follow-up required from qualified advisers. You will help leaders understand the exposure they are accepting and whether approved measures have been implemented.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an enterprise risk register with clear descriptions, owners, existing controls and outstanding actions.
- Coordinate periodic reviews with department leaders and document changes in likelihood, impact or business context.
- Track approved policy requirements and obtain evidence that assigned operational controls are functioning.
- Organize readiness reviews for new activities, routing specialist legal, financial or technical questions appropriately.
- Assess supplier and operational dependencies with procurement and system owners.
- Coordinate business continuity exercises and record recovery gaps, decisions and follow-up responsibilities.
- Investigate control exceptions through factual evidence gathering and escalate material concerns to Legal.
- Prepare concise risk reporting that distinguishes completed actions, accepted exposure and unresolved decisions.
Required qualifications
- Experience in operational risk, compliance coordination, internal controls or a comparable review function.
- Ability to assess business processes and identify evidence that a control is operating.
- Experience maintaining risk records and following remediation work across multiple owners.
- Clear judgment about specialist advice, escalation and limits of delegated authority.
- Strong analysis, organized reporting and a relevant qualification or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with technology, media or a portfolio containing different operating models.
- Familiarity with business continuity exercises, third-party risk or policy-management programs.
- Experience preparing review evidence for external advisers or independent assurance work.
Measures of success
- Material risks have named owners and understandable treatment or escalation decisions.
- Control reviews rely on evidence and identify gaps that responsible teams can act on.
- New activities receive the necessary specialist review before operational commitments.
- Leadership reporting makes unresolved exposure and overdue remediation visible.
First 90 days
Meet Legal and operating leaders to map the most consequential risks and existing controls. Create an initial register and select a focused set of evidence reviews. Agree remediation ownership, run a practical continuity discussion for a critical workflow and present the Chief Legal Officer with prioritized findings and a sustainable review cadence.
Compensation
Proposed annual base salary of $105,000–$145,000 USD. The final offer will reflect relevant experience, qualifications and the agreed scope of the position, subject to approval. This range covers base pay only; any incentive compensation or benefits would be specified separately in an employment offer.
What to include in your application
Describe a risk or control review you led, the evidence you examined and how you followed corrective actions through to completion. Keep examples nonconfidential.
