Position summary
The Privacy & Data Governance Manager will organize the operational work needed to understand how LSO Media Group collects, uses, shares and retains information. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will coordinate business and technical teams around data ownership, documented processing and approved handling practices. Product discovery for LSO Workplace and LSO Playout will be an important area of collaboration as those services develop.
The role turns counsel’s guidance into repeatable procedures and review records. You will map data flows, prepare assessments and track follow-up while legal interpretation remains with counsel and technical implementation remains with system owners. You will help teams surface consequential data questions early enough to inform product and vendor decisions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an inventory of significant data categories, systems, purposes, owners and external recipients.
- Coordinate privacy and data-use assessments for proposed products, integrations and business processes under counsel’s direction.
- Work with technical owners to document data flows, access controls and deletion capabilities.
- Maintain approved retention schedules and track implementation with accountable system and business owners.
- Coordinate the intake and routing of privacy requests using procedures approved by Legal.
- Review vendor data-handling information and assemble open questions for Legal and technical specialists.
- Support incident fact gathering and response coordination without independently determining legal notification obligations.
- Prepare role-specific guidance and report unresolved governance issues to the Chief Legal Officer.
Required qualifications
- Experience in privacy operations, data governance, information management or a closely related field.
- Ability to map data flows and translate technical explanations into clear review records.
- Experience coordinating assessments and remediation across legal, technical and business teams.
- Sound judgment with sensitive information and clear recognition of when counsel must advise.
- Strong documentation and project coordination skills supported by relevant education or practical experience.
Preferred qualifications
- A recognized privacy or data-governance qualification.
- Experience supporting business software involving customer organizations or employee information.
- Familiarity with data inventories, vendor assessments or retention implementation projects.
Measures of success
- Significant data processing has documented purposes, owners and system dependencies.
- Product and vendor reviews raise material data questions before commitments are made.
- Approved governance actions have accountable owners and traceable completion evidence.
- Privacy requests and incidents reach the appropriate legal and technical reviewers promptly.
First 90 days
Meet Legal, product leaders and corporate system owners to identify the highest-priority information flows. Build an initial data inventory and a practical review intake process. Pilot an assessment with a developing product or integration, document open issues and owners, and propose a sequenced plan for retention, request handling and vendor-review coordination.
Compensation
Proposed annual base salary of $110,000–$150,000 USD. The final offer will reflect relevant experience, qualifications and the agreed scope of the position, subject to approval. This range covers base pay only; any incentive compensation or benefits would be specified separately in an employment offer.
What to include in your application
Describe a data inventory, privacy review or governance implementation you coordinated. Explain how you worked with counsel and technical owners while keeping responsibilities clear.
