Position summary
The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will build the planning process that connects LSO Media Group’s business ambitions to operating resources. Working directly with the CFO and department leaders, you will turn staffing plans, commercial assumptions and product milestones into understandable budgets and forecasts. Your analysis will distinguish committed activity from scenarios still being considered.
This role requires curiosity about how each business earns revenue and consumes cash. You will question assumptions, reconcile forecasts to accounting results and show the decisions behind changing performance. The work should help leaders choose among real alternatives, including the timing of hiring, product development, partnership commitments and expansion.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate annual budgets and rolling forecasts with documented owners, assumptions and submission deadlines.
- Build linked financial models for staffing, operating costs, revenue drivers and cash timing.
- Analyze actual results against plan with Accounting, separating timing differences from lasting changes.
- Develop investment scenarios for LSO Workplace, LSO Playout and other approved growth initiatives.
- Prepare concise management reporting that explains performance, forecast changes and decisions needed.
- Work with department heads to assess spending requests and identify affordable sequencing options.
- Maintain consistent metric definitions and reconcile management reports to approved financial records.
- Track the outcomes of approved investments and use evidence to improve future planning assumptions.
Required qualifications
- Experience in financial planning, business analysis or corporate finance, typically five or more years.
- Strong spreadsheet modeling skills, including scenario analysis and transparent links between assumptions and outputs.
- Ability to interpret financial statements and reconcile operational measures with accounting results.
- Experience coordinating forecasts with managers who have different levels of financial knowledge.
- Clear written explanations and a finance-related degree or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience modeling subscription products, advertising revenue or project-based service businesses.
- Familiarity with planning tools, business intelligence platforms or structured financial datasets.
- Experience supporting a new product launch or evaluating investment across several operating units.
Measures of success
- Forecasts use explicit assumptions that business owners can review and update.
- Leaders receive timely explanations of material changes and actionable spending choices.
- Management reporting reconciles to the financial records and uses stable metric definitions.
- Investment reviews compare outcomes with the assumptions used for approval.
First 90 days
Meet department owners and map the current planning inputs. Reconcile a baseline forecast to the latest available accounting results and identify the most consequential assumptions. Build an initial staffing and operating-cost model, establish the reporting cadence, and present a small set of scenarios for an upcoming investment decision to the CFO.
Compensation
Proposed annual base salary of $100,000–$140,000 USD. The final offer will reflect relevant experience, qualifications and the agreed scope of the position, subject to approval. This range covers base pay only; any incentive compensation or benefits would be specified separately in an employment offer.
What to include in your application
Share a nonconfidential example of a model or planning process that changed a business decision. Explain the assumptions you challenged and your role in the outcome.
