Position summary

The Director of Strategic Partnerships develops relationships that create sustained commercial value across LSO Media Group’s portfolio. This position focuses on alliances, co-development arrangements, distribution relationships and potential joint ventures where both parties contribute meaningful capabilities or resources. You will identify partners whose strengths complement the company’s businesses and translate shared interests into a workable commercial structure.

You will take partnership opportunities from assessment through proposal, negotiation support, launch planning and ongoing review. Working with brand leaders, corporate development, finance, legal and operations, you will establish clear objectives, responsibilities and measures of performance. Commitments and agreements remain subject to the company’s approval process, with long-term value and operational practicality guiding each recommendation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a partnership strategy that identifies capability gaps, growth priorities and the types of partners best positioned to address them.
  • Research and qualify potential partners based on strategic fit, reputation, financial and operational capacity, and the value each party would contribute.
  • Build senior-level relationships and lead discovery conversations that establish shared objectives before substantial time or resources are committed.
  • Design partnership business cases covering proposed economics, resource requirements, governance, customer value and credible alternatives to the arrangement.
  • Structure proposals for alliances, co-development projects and potential joint ventures in coordination with corporate development and relevant business leaders.
  • Coordinate commercial negotiation with finance and legal, clearly documenting proposed obligations, decision rights and issues requiring executive approval.
  • Define launch plans with operating teams, including accountable owners, dependencies, service expectations, reporting needs and review milestones.
  • Establish practical partner governance through agreed communication, performance reviews, escalation routes and procedures for resolving disagreements.
  • Measure partnership performance against its business case and recommend expansion, adjustment, renewal or an orderly exit when appropriate.
  • Maintain an accurate record of partner relationships, agreement status, commercial commitments and opportunities for useful collaboration across the portfolio.

Required qualifications

  • Six or more years of experience in strategic partnerships, alliances, commercial strategy, corporate development or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing substantive partnerships with shared responsibilities and measurable business outcomes.
  • Ability to build commercial models and assess how revenue, costs, resources and risk are distributed between parties.
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills, including the ability to address competing priorities without obscuring difficult issues.
  • Experience coordinating legal, financial and operational input before an agreement is approved or launched.
  • A degree in business, economics, communications or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with co-development arrangements, distribution alliances or joint venture planning.
  • Experience managing partnerships across multiple business units or different industries.
  • Exposure to media, hospitality, consumer services or procurement-related businesses.

Measures of success

  • Qualified partners whose capabilities address specific portfolio priorities.
  • Approved agreements with clear economics, responsibilities and measures of success.
  • Partnership launches that operating teams can support with agreed resources.
  • Documented commercial value and timely action when performance falls short.

First 90 days

During your first 90 days, you will meet portfolio leaders, review current partnerships and identify the company’s most important gaps and opportunities. You will build a prioritized partner map, establish a consistent qualification and business-case process, and begin discovery conversations with selected prospects. You will also propose a review framework for existing relationships so that renewal and expansion decisions reflect evidence of value.

Compensation

Proposed annual base salary of $110,000–$150,000 USD. The final offer will reflect relevant experience, qualifications and the agreed scope of the position, subject to approval. This range covers base pay only; any incentive compensation or benefits would be specified separately in an employment offer.
