Position summary

The Director of Content Distribution will establish dependable distribution practices for LSO Media Group’s media portfolio, including Luigi Scarcelli Official, NEWS NEXT, Connection TV and OPTiMIST PICTURES. Reporting to the Director of Portfolio Operations, you will coordinate delivery requirements, schedules, rights readiness and technical operations across approved outlets. You will work with brand leaders to understand programming priorities and with commercial colleagues to assess feasible distribution opportunities.

This role brings together operational planning, partner coordination and technical judgment. You will ensure that content is suitable for its destination, permissions support its intended use and teams know how to respond when delivery fails. You will guide distribution specialists and collaborate with Legal on terms and rights questions. You may contribute operator requirements to the forthcoming LSO Playout team, while keeping the operation of existing distribution workflows distinct from the development and launch decisions for that product.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a distribution operating plan covering approved channels, delivery responsibilities, schedules and capacity requirements.
  • Maintain a current inventory of distribution outlets, technical specifications, contacts and contractual operating obligations.
  • Coordinate programming, licensing, metadata and technical readiness before content is scheduled or delivered.
  • Lead the distribution function and establish clear ownership for streaming monitoring, broadcast systems, scheduling and delivery exceptions.
  • Evaluate proposed distribution arrangements with commercial and legal colleagues, documenting costs, requirements and operational dependencies.
  • Set practical service measures for delivery timeliness, availability and incident response, using verified operational evidence.
  • Oversee incident reviews, recovery plans and changes to distribution workflows that could affect audience access.
  • Provide documented operator feedback to the LSO Playout product team without committing current operations to unverified product capabilities.

Required qualifications

  • At least seven years of media distribution, broadcast operations, streaming operations or related experience, including leadership responsibility.
  • Experience coordinating technical delivery, content schedules and rights requirements across multiple outlets.
  • Working knowledge of media formats, metadata, caption delivery and common broadcast or streaming workflows.
  • Experience managing service issues, external partners and operational budgets or capacity plans.
  • Clear decision-making and cross-functional communication; a relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience overseeing both linear channels and on-demand distribution.
  • Experience introducing monitoring, incident procedures or distribution performance reporting.
  • Experience evaluating media technology or supporting the operational assessment of new distribution products.

Measures of success

  • Approved programming reaches its intended destinations with complete rights and delivery information.
  • Distribution ownership, partner contacts and escalation paths are documented and current.
  • Operational performance and costs can be assessed against agreed service expectations.
  • Incidents and proposed changes receive structured review that reduces repeated disruption.

First 90 days

During the first 90 days, map distribution outlets, active workflows, partner obligations and recurring incidents. Meet brand, legal and technical owners to confirm priorities and gaps. Establish a rights-and-delivery readiness checklist, baseline service reporting and an escalation map. Review continuity risks, prioritize corrective work and present a distribution plan that connects brand needs with available resources.

Compensation

Proposed annual base salary of $115,000–$155,000 USD. The final offer will reflect relevant experience, qualifications and the agreed scope of the position, subject to approval. This range covers base pay only; any incentive compensation or benefits would be specified separately in an employment offer.

What to include in your application
