Position summary
The Corporate Communications Manager will turn company decisions and developments into clear, accurate communications for employees, partners, journalists and the public. Reporting to the Director of Brand Marketing, you will maintain the corporate communications calendar, draft announcements and coordinate reviews with the people responsible for the underlying information. You will support LSO Media Group as a parent company while respecting the separate voices of its media brands.
This role requires sound editorial judgment and a willingness to ask precise questions before publishing. You will work with leadership, Legal, Finance and product teams to distinguish confirmed developments from plans under consideration. Your work will include corporate newsroom stories, executive briefing materials, employee updates and prepared responses to inquiries. Communications about LSO Workplace and LSO Playout must describe their development status accurately and align with approved launch decisions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a corporate communications calendar covering announcements, leadership updates, employee information and significant company milestones.
- Draft and edit press releases, newsroom articles, statements, talking points and frequently asked questions in a consistent corporate voice.
- Verify names, dates, figures, quotations and product claims with responsible owners before submitting material for approval.
- Coordinate executive, legal and subject-matter review, recording approved versions and publication decisions.
- Organize media inquiries and maintain accurate contact records, preparing factual responses and escalating sensitive requests.
- Develop practical internal communications that explain decisions, responsibilities and changes employees need to understand.
- Maintain issue-response materials and escalation contacts, supporting leadership with accurate information during time-sensitive situations.
- Monitor coverage and stakeholder questions, summarize recurring misunderstandings and recommend improvements to company communications.
Required qualifications
- At least four years of professional communications, public relations, newsroom or comparable editorial experience.
- Strong writing and editing ability across announcements, executive materials and explanatory corporate content.
- Experience verifying factual claims and managing approvals involving several subject-matter owners.
- Sound judgment with confidential information, sensitive inquiries and changing publication timelines.
- Ability to organize multiple assignments and communicate clearly with senior stakeholders; a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience supporting a parent company, portfolio of brands or growing organization.
- Experience with media relations, employee communications or issues management.
- Familiarity with accessible web publishing and communications about developing technology products.
Measures of success
- Published communications are accurate, timely and supported by documented approvals.
- Employees and external stakeholders can understand the implications of significant company developments.
- Inquiries reach the appropriate owner and receive consistent, verified responses.
- The newsroom and communications calendar remain current and manageable.
First 90 days
Review corporate messaging, existing newsroom material and the approval process during the first 90 days. Meet leadership and key subject-matter owners, establish a factual reference sheet and organize the communications calendar. Draft and complete the review of a priority announcement, build a reusable briefing template and identify gaps in issue-response materials. Recommend a sustainable cadence for employee and public updates.
Compensation
Proposed annual base salary of $80,000–$110,000 USD. The final offer will reflect relevant experience, qualifications and the agreed scope of the position, subject to approval. This range covers base pay only; any incentive compensation or benefits would be specified separately in an employment offer.
What to include in your application
Provide two nonconfidential writing samples and explain your role in researching, drafting and securing approval for them. Describe how you handled an uncertain fact or a sensitive communications deadline.
